Winneconne Thrift and Gift (WTG) is an independent 501(c)(3) organization first established in 2008 as a way to provide aid to those in need and to give back to the community. Since that time, WTG has grown, withstanding many changes and challenges. From the beginning, a large part of the mission was to provide grants to other community charities and those in need throughout the world. These grants have grown from $2,000 in 2008 to $77,000 in 2019, helping over 75 different charities. The dedicated volunteers are instrumental in selecting the benefactors of the grants. In 2020, WTG established a scholarship fund in addition to the grants. The store also provides non-monetary donations to over 15 local charities.
The store is managed by Pat Samolinski with direction from a 7 member Board of Directors. The grant committee is a separate entity and recommends the grants to the BOD for their approval.
In all cases, the volunteers, BOD, and Grant committee members are guided by the Mission.
