Interested in Volunteering?
Winneconne Thrift & Gift is able to provide financial services to the community and worldwide because of its volunteers. The store is non-profit and needs many volunteers to be successful. Many volunteers are from the Winneconne area, but also travel from Oshkosh, Larsen, Omro, Neenah, and Fremont. Volunteers are responsible for accepting, sorting, repairing and cleaning donations. Other tasks include displaying donations, cashiering, assisting customers, housekeeping, and pricing donations. Volunteering at Winneconne Thrift & Gift provides volunteers the opportunity to rekindle or develop new friendships. Volunteers are able to work a set scheduled time each week or whenever it works into their schedule. A weekly volunteer schedule is posted.
A large percentage of the proceeds earned at WTG are distributed to various local and national charities and non-profit organizations, so giving your time as a volunteer for WTG means you are directly giving back to dozens of other non-profit organizations and hundreds (even thousands) of people in need.
As a new volunteer, you will first attend a volunteer orientation that includes a short tour of the store, an informal interview, and a presentation of information about who we are and what we do. At Team Thrift, we want to utilize the skills and passions of every volunteer, so we work hard to place you exactly where you will enjoy spending time as a volunteer. We strive to create an environment that is collaborative, encouraging, organized, and FUN! And yes, we laugh a lot at Thrift because we love what we do, who we’re doing it with, and most importantly, why we do it.
